What Ever Happened To The Great Movie Heros?

In the 1950's and 60's the iconic figure was John Wayne. John Wayne was famous for playing a cowboy. Cowboys where pictured as rough, tough, gun slingers, true men. In the 50's and 60's every kid wanted to grow up and be a cowboy. And they all Had John Wayne for a role model and he was a pretty good one at that.

Today what are the biggest hit movies with young people, movies like twilight where vampires and werwolves are glorified.

this is fundamental shift in how hollywood portrays the ideal man. It isn't just the movies it is about what role men should play in society, should men be the providers, should they be the rough tough cowboys of yesteryear the ones who will stand up and protect those they love, should they stand for what they believe in and not back down even when confronted with the gravest of circumstances, should they stand up in defense of their families, their country, and their sacred honor, or should they become the weak sissy men that mainstream culture seems to want them to become. Not me I would much rather be John Wayne than Edward whatever his name is. Because a real man should not be afraid to fight for what he believes in, he should fight to his last breath to protect his family, his country and his sacred honor. That is a real man and we sure could use some more of them.
